Wednesday

Midweek Musing

Good morning from a very warm but damp Derby. It is already 12 degrees and I have all my windows open.  Last night it was 16 degrees around 9pm, phew, I am so pleased it is mild, it makes Christianas stay a little easier as she cant cope too well in cold weather.

Christiana and I made a few of these little treat bags for friends that came over to do a bit of crafting, which is very theraputic.

We put a few chocolates in them.

Here is a card that Pauline, a great friend and downline made which she gave  me a couple of weeks ago, I think its lovely and hope you do too.  All SU goodies used and one to replicate when I have some me time, thanks Pauline.

Christiana and I have also been busy making some A4 envelopes.  These are so quick and easy to make with some of the 12 x 12 papers I have.

I have so many papers that I cant ever use all of them so these envelopes are great.

We have some new weekly deals today from SU and if you would like to order anything, please do let me know before Friday.

If you would like to order anything else or have any questions please, do let me know.

Thank you for taking the time to have a read today and I hope you have a wonderful day, what ever you are up to.

Monday

Christmas Quackers

Sophia put this quote on facebook a few weeks ago and thought it was so true, so here I am, sharing it with you.

It is very mild out there today, yes I have been out already.  Had a quick wander round as the house seemed to be rather hot (or my personal thermostat has gone, again).

Lovely day yesterday, spent time with the Rob and Nat and the grandchildren, they are so wonderful and they make me laugh.  Lots of hours with Christiana in the craft room, its so peaceful and calming and Paul took us out for a bit of lunch.  I guess you could say it was a perfect day.  I was hoping to go for a walk in a local park but maybe later this week, we cant do everything.

Here is another Christmas card that I made a couple of weeks ago with some lovely ladies
If you fancy making cards for a couple of hours on Wednesday afternoon, why not come and join us?

Here are some Christmas ducks that will be winging their way across the med.  One is for Christiana who will take it to Cyprus, one for Katerina in Preston and the other will end up with Sophia in Athens.  I thought that they were so cute.

Enough of Christmas for one day.  Thanks for having a read and wishing you a wonderful Monday.

Sunday

Sundays Post

Good morning and guess who forgot to put the clocks back?  Oh yes I am up at silly o'clock so I think I will spend my extra hour, in the craft room.

We had a lovely day yesterday and so many visitors, it was wonderful *waving* at everyone.  I even got to hold baby Jonathan.  It didnt last for long as he started to cry but I cant believe what a quiet and contented baby he is.

Its a good job Christiana and I got the mixer out on Friday

We had lots of scrummy cakes, still some left for any visitors that may wish to pop over later today.

It was our brother in laws birthday yesterday and this is the card that I made for him.  Thank you Janice and Andy for this stamp set, it is great and one I wouldn't have picked for myself.

After I sorted out my flowers (quite a few had died) , I had some left so put them in my little espresso cup, I thought that they looked really nice.

We had a new tv for our bedroom,it is one that is mounted on the wall.  Katerina, who is studying in Preston has asked for our old tv or was it Katerina needs a tv so instead of buying her a new one, we decided to have a new one? or something like this I expect.  Anyway, we have the old TV ready for her but no stand.  The old TV was used to be mounted on the wall and we cant find the stand for it.  We have searched everywhere so Paul decided to take the little shed to pieces yesterday evening to see if it is in a box, in the shed

It wasnt there but what a sort out he had.  Lots more stuff in the bins, off to the charity and some ready to take to the tip.

Thanks for having a ready today and I do hope you managed to get your lie in.....

Friday

The Apple Tree

Great news, as well as being a Friday, my internet shop is back up, running and open for business.  That means that when you are awake at silly o'clock, you can browse the virtual SU shop, pick an item or two to purchase, pop it in your basket and done.  Shop till you drop.  Sometimes it means that I dont know who has ordered what though.  I am  *waving* at the person who has just purchased the brilliant stamp set Wetlands from my online shop.  If you let me know who you are, I will pop a thank you card in to the post and, if you are local, let me know when you are free as I have this adorable card I would like to make using the Wetlands stamp set and perhaps we could do this together?  In fact, if a few of us would like to make a couple of cards, let me know, I shall pick a date, give you a list of what you need and we can have a crafting morning, or afternoon or couple of hours or....well you get the picture

Yesterday Christiana and I went to Ikea, pronounced eeekayer I have been told. We didnt get much, a birthday pressie for bro in law, a few ornaments and some Chrsitmas wrapping paper. Boring really but hay, it was lovely to be with tana (Christiana) and it did me a world of good to occupy my mind.  We stopped off for a lovely cuppa and a bite to eat here, Got a couple of bits too, as you do.

More news and not so good news.  After a visit to the dentist (those that know me know about my phobia), I sat with him and went through all the xrays and photos.  My last root canal treatment of 18 months ago did not work.  Not only that, I have an infection at the base of this root canal treatment that has spread to my other teeth and I have been devastatingly told, I have to have the top set of my teeth removed. OMG.  No more to say on this matter at the moment but I am still shocked and upset by what I have been told.

Here is another card that I made some time ago, that tana has decided to take home with her, she is cheeky.

Have a wonderful Friday and, if you are free, grab some crafty bits and bobs tomorrow in the SALE.  For venue details, please get in touch

Thursday

Post it note holder

It feels quite a lot warmer this morning compared to the last couple of days.  I think that Christiana and I may venture out a bit today, to blow the cobwebs off, so to speak.

Unfortunately Christiana lost a filling over the weekend and yesterday we had to visit a dentist.  Now its not the nicest of things under normal circumstances but with Christianas illness, she can not open her mouth too wide as the skin around her mouth has lost its elasticity.  Fortunately the dentist she saw could not have been more understanding, gentle and considerate.  Christiana felt totally at ease, so much so, she is going back next week for a little more work.  The dentist has not been able to fill the tooth as it has root canal treatment a few years ago so she has ground it down to be smooth, no longer cutting into the side of her cheek.  Phew

Isnt this pretty? I was lucky enough to get this given to me last week and inside there is post it note, very handy.  I am told that this is a die and it has all the elements with it too, so I shall keep a look out for one.

I havent been doing a lot of crafting this week so far, lots of pottering, sorting and walking.  I dont seem to be able to concentrate but that is just the state of mind at the moment.  Who knows, I may get into my wonderful crafty space later today.  Paul was due home today but that has been delayed.  Everything crossed that he is home tomorrow as he makes the most wonderful cappuchinos and hopefully, I will have a few friends visiting at the weekend who also love cappuchinos.

Thanks for having a read and have a wonderful day.

Wednesday

Cards, Bags, Weekly Deals and Broken Mirror

I hope you stayed safe from the wind and rain yesterday.  It wasnt a very nice day out there and I stayed nice and warm for most of the day.  Late afternoon I went for a walk around Dunelm with Tana and mum which was nice.

Here is one of the cards that I have made that Tana has put into her bag to take back to Cyprus

A simple card and it has crystal effects on it, unfortunately, it doesnt really show on this photo.

When we had our wardrobes installed a few weeks ago, the chappie went straight through the wall, straight into the hall mirror with his drill, here are the photos.

You can actually see the end of the raw plug in the second photo.  Today they are coming to repair the mirror hopefully.  My wardrobes and drawers and dresser are just perfect.  I am slowly but surely putting everything away and sorting out at the same time.

I have a few handbags that I will no longer use and its such a shame to throw them away so, if you or anyone you know may be interested in using these bags, just let me know.

As it's Wednesday, we have the new weekly deals which are

My next order will be going in on Sunday so, if there is anything that you would like, do let me know.  If you need any help with anything crafty please get in touch and I will try my best to help you.

Thanks for having a read and I hope you enjoy your day.

Tuesday

Tuesdays Twitter

Good morning from a rather wet Derby.  It looks like we have had some rain in the night although I didnt hear a thing.  The forecast says even more rain all day today as well as windy, oh well.

WHOOP WHOOP look what has just come out.  A whole brand new Stampin' Up! Christmas supplement with pages and pages of projects.

Click HERE and it will take you to a link for a look through.  Any orders can be placed by getting in touch with me and if you wish, you can have them delivered direct to your door.  My on-line shop should be back up and running over the next day or two if you would prefer to do that..

Just look at this cutie

It was a present for Christiana from her Aunt Gail and she loves it.  I cant tell you how soft and warm it is, lovely present if anyone is struggling for ideas this Christmas.

Right, I had best go and get all the pot plants up as they have been blown over, before the rain returns.  Thanks for having a read and have a lovely day.

Sunday

Shabby - well it will be

Another start to another week and it has been a very early one today.  I was up at 5 as I just couldnt sleep, even though I am so tired.

I am going to be having a potter around the house today and catch up with a few chores with Christiana, when she gets up.  There is no reason for her to be up before 10 and who knows, she may decide to have a pj day.

Here is the start of the dresser that I have begun to shabby up.  I find that doing this is very relaxing and  I get a lot of pleasure out of the end result, even if it does take a week or two.
This is what I have started with, sorry that the photo is a bit dark, as you know I am no photographer.

I have used sugar soap to wash the top 6 times and yaks, this is the colour of the water.
This wonderful piece of furniture has got years and years of wax and polish on it so it has to be cleaned first.  I expect it to be going a creamy vintagy colour once I start.

Here is a Christmas card that I sat and  made on Friday evening with a wonderful bunch of ladies.

It has crystal effects all over it to make it shiney.  I loved doing this and will be making quite a few more.

Thanks for having a read and have a wonderful day, whatever you are up to.

Saturday

Picture perfect

Saturday and the weather is supposed to be lovely, fingers crossed.

We finally found my picture.

I received this for my birthday earlier in the year.  Paul found this down south in a little craft shop and knew it would look good in my crafty space.  It has been stuck in a box until earlier in the week but now it up and on show.

If you are free this time next Saturday (25th October) come and grab yourself a bargain or two.  Please get in touch for venue details.

Have a lovely day today and thank you for having a read.

Friday

Santa Box

I havent been out yet so dont know what the weather is like.  I do know that tomorrow is supposed to be a very nice day out there and Paul has lots of plans.

We managed to get the ribbon rack up in the craft room and its an ideal solution to something that has been bugging me for a few years.  I am very happy with it.  It is actually a photo ledge from Ikea and it comes in 1 meter lengths.  Now that I have everything out and to hand, I will definately use it a lot more, which is what I have done for all my crafty bits.  I do have 2 boxes full of other ribbons and these will get used up on our scrapbook days.  I have having scrapbook days in my craft room.  It is a bit like a crop where we all get together and make a page or two, either following a theme or not.  Just a maximum of 6 so we can spread out a bit.  If you fancy having a go at this, just let me know.

Look what Christiana and I did yesterday.

I think that it is so cute.  I shall be purchasing a couple more of these dies and if you would like one, please let me know by Tuesday at 7pm

Here's how we did it.

I took 6 x 12 piece of red card to cut out the actual box

We then cut out the belt buckle from silver glimmer paper, the belt and buttons from black card

Stuck the black belt onto one of the sides of the box

Stuck the buckle pieces together

Added the buckle onto the belt

Added the buttons

Trimmed the belt

Stuck the two pieces of the box together.

Which completed the little treat box for Christmas

If you fancy making a few of these, let me know and next time I go into my crafty space to make some, I shall let you know.

Thanks for having a read and I hope you have a wonderful day
