Sunday

Snowy Sunday

I had a lie in this morning which is a very rare thing for me but I obviously needed it. Well, isnt that what sundays are for? Had a peep out of the bedroom curtains to see what the weather was like, something I do everyday, and OMG, WOW, IT'S CHRISTMAS. Where did all that snow come from and so much of it. Here are photos of the back of the house for my girls to see what they are missing. Katerina told me last night that it was getting warmer in Cyprus and today she will see how cold it is here.

My shopping trip yesterday was a failure. I didnt buy a swimming costume but I did buy some double sided tape, a birthday present for someone's birthday in October and had coffee with a wonderful friend so not a total waste of time. I guess I will be shopping again later in the week.

Have a wonderful day whatever you are up to and if you are in Derbyshire and have to go out, please be careful on the roads

UPDATE
I must be mad. I dont think I had ever made a snowman so it was s*d the cleaning, ironing and all the other chores. I put 4 layers on, my marigolds (have to wear marigolds as I have a skin condition on my hands which flares up if my hands get wet for too long), trainers on and off I went

under guidance from Paul, I needed a small snow ball to start me off

then I was told to roll on the floor, no not me, the snowball

keep it rolling and roll
some more, phew rolling on the floor on a Sunday morning
really is hard work

Warm and cup of tea time before continuing.

Continued I did and just look at Mr. Snowman. I am so pleased at how he turned out, just a pity I didnt have a carrot for his nose but we cant have everything.

And the family photo

The snow is melting very quickly now but the forecast is for more tomorrow. Maybe, just maybe I will be able to make Mrs. Snowman tomorrow.

Saturday

Shopping Saturday

As usual it's Saturday morning and I am up before the birds start singing. Outside is ice white and soooo quite. The temperature is -2 brrrr.

We should have had a crafty night at Ilkeston Arena last night but had to change the venue at the very last minute. I cant tell you how fraught that was but as the saying goes "it'll be alright on the night". In fact it was better than alright, I had a wonderful evening. There were a few new faces and everyone had a lovely time. Jacqui showed us how to make a beautiful heart shaped box which I shall show you later in the week.

Today I am out shopping. I go on holiday soon so need to get a few essentials and have decided to brave the town. I am told there are lots of sales on so will go and try my luck. This is my last free weekend before we go away so I need to get it all done.

I have made quite a few cards this week but unfortunately I cant share them with you just yet. Some are birthday cards for later this week and others are the cards for the workshops. I can show you these though.

The Derby Dabblers very talented Liz Kelly recently purchased Nature's Nest stamp set. Just look at the wonderful creations she has come up with. Thank you Liz

Wednesday

Midweek Musings

Wednesday and a cold start to the day brrr. Mind you it is silly o'clock again. Off to the fat club today so will let you know how I get on tomorrow. As long as I havent gained weight I will be happy.

I mentioned in a previous post that last weekend we started to get things ready for the papermax show. I put up a table, added a black cloth and placed all the cards etc. on the table. Here are a couple of pictures of what we have made so far. Everything is on this one table but we will have two tables on the day, I hope. We will also need a bit of space to demo cards. Pam, Lesley, Jacqui and myself will take it in turns to do the demos

I am sorry about the quality of these pictures but it gives you some idea of what we have been up to.

Here is another simply said card that I promised to show you. I have used Whisper White ink on this, another item I cant stop using.

Have a lovely day and I look forward to reading your comments later.

Up to muffin

yep, I have been baking muffins again. I totally forgot to half the quantity of ingredients I needed as the recipe is for 10 very large muffins. I prefer to do them a lot smaller and ended up baking 72 of them. I took most of them into work today and they were gone in a blink of an eye. This time I remembered to take a photograph Violla

I was spoilt rotten again yesterday as it was Valentines day (another reason I made the cherry muffins).
Here's what I got
I have to save the chocolates until Wednesday evening, after I have been to fat club.

Hope you have had a good day and I look forward to reading your comments when I get in from work tomorrow night.

Sunday

Super Sunday

After a sizzling Saturday crafting the day away I am looking forward to a super Sunday.

Yesterday we made lots of little sweet bags for the table at the show as well as rabbits, cards and shopping bags. It was a lovely day and the time just flew by. We put everything on the table as a dummy run and I think we have loads of stuff. It was at half past 10 last night that I realised, lots of things for Easter, ideas for Mother's Day, girly birthday cards and treats but YIKES nothing for men. Not one masculine card was there. I have to get my thinking cap on this week to get some ideas for cards in a yellow, orange and green theme for the men in our lives.

Here is a card that I made earlier in the week from the Simply Said stamp set, again. Hope you arent getting fed up with this set as I have lots more ideas.

Have a lovely Valentines Day

Saturday

Sizzling Saturday

Yes today is going to be a hot one in my house. Its is crafting, crafting and a bit more crafting today. I am going to be having a table or two at the Papermax Show in Derby on 7th March, with Jacqui, Pam and Lesley so today is the day that boxes, bags and cards are going to be made for the display. If you are going to attend the show, please drop by and say a quick hello.

Here is one of the cards that I have already made, from the Fun and Fast note set, such a popular set and a favourite of mine. The theme is going to be lovely spring colours, yellows, oranges and a touch of green.

Getting everything ready in advance is part of my New Year resolution which is something I am sticking to. It really does make life a lot easier.

Paul came home last night, yeah, its so nice to have him back.

Hope you have a great day whatever you are up to

UPDATED FOR JACKIE - The papermax show is on Sunday 7th March at Moorways sports centre. Its from 10.00 - 4.00

Friday

Friday, all day

Yet another week is nearly over and what strange weather we have had. It snowed in Derby yesterday and then froze overnight. I skidded into work this morning, literally. Lets hope we have seen the last of it.

I think the problems with my computer are sorted now, only time will tell. Hopefully Paul will be home soon so he can have a good look at it to see what was causing my problems.

At fat club this week I maintained, not lost anything but not put anything on either. I was a bit disappointed as I had done so well last week but fingers crossed and another pound will be gone at my next weigh in.

It was our neices 4th birthday last week and her are photos of the bag and card I made. I think I must be so sad because everytime I use a circle punch to make frames, I keep the circles just so that I can decorate bags. Does anyone else do anything like this?

Here is a close up of the card

Have a great Friday whatever you are up to

Monday

For the boys from the girls

Puff and the weekend was gone. I must say that I have had lots of sleep over the weekend and feel bright as a button for busy week ahead. I have also had a good weekend food wise. I attend a Slimmers World class as I am hoping to get rid of 1lb a week and so far so good. I will let you know on Thursday how good I have been this week.

Did you know that there is a craft club on a Friday night in Derby? Its the Derby Dabblers and we meet the first Friday of each month. It is more of a social event really and we all have a good time. Well we met last Friday for the first time since Christmas and all I did in 3 hours craft wise was to stamp one image and colour it in but wow, it was so nice to catch up with everyone. So if you fancy joining us one night just let me know.

Thought I would share these cards I made for the twins to give to their boyfriends.

I was lucky enough to receive the stamp as a Christmas present and I cant tell you how many times I have used it for wedding anniversaries and an engagement card. Thank you Santa.

I hope you have a great start to the week and look forward to reading your comments.

Sunday

Get those sunglasses out

for this bright card.

We made this at our team meeting using the itty bitty buds hostess set, which really is a great set. It is a bit bright and I do hope that Janet liked it.

The Sale a Bration is only on for a couple of more weeks so if you want to get your hands on one of those free sets, just let me know.

Have a great day, whatever you are up to.

Busy Weekend

Last weekend was such a busy one but so nice. I was at Pauline's on Sunday at Stampin Up event. Thank you so much Pauline, I had a lovely time and hope that everyone enjoyed themselves. Here are a couple of pictures of everyone being very busy.

I havent done any baking for a while and told the lads at work that it was their turn, jokingly. Well, what a surprise I had recently when Luke brought in these scrummy cakes.

I was expecting wives and girlfriends to make cakes but no, Luke and his young daughter made these. To top it all he went to all the trouble of puting everyones name on a cake AND, he wrote out the girls name in pink. I do wonder if he did that so we couldnt eat more than one each.
Luke is a star.

Have a great day, whatever you are up to.

Monday

White Rabbit White Rabbit White Rabbit

does anyone do White Rabbit at the start of the month anymore?

1st Feb and a whole new month to look forward to. Its going to be a busy month for me, two workshops at home, Derby Dabblers, two parties that my team have organised, Valentine's Day and at the end of the month a weekend retreat ohhh, how exciting.

I have been so organised that I made all my birthday cards for February and can I find them, nope. I have looked everywhere and they have all vanished. I dont want to have to make them again so its going to be another hunt for them tomorrow night.

Here is another card made with the medallion stamp but I went a bit OTT with it.

First of all I think it would look better the other way up.

I stamped the inside with bits of the medallion and went a bit overboard.

Have a great Monday and I look forward to reading your comments over a cuppa when I get back from my real job.
