Happy Name Day Katerina

Today is my daughter's Name Day. She not only gets a birthday but a name day too, which is a tradition in Cyprus. I am sure she will have a great day, as Katerina always does.

What a windy night it was last night. I had a bad experience when I was younger when a chimney stack was blown down through our house, it went through the roof of a bedroom, conservatory and garden so I am afraid of it now. It was so noisy last night but this morning it all looks calm outside, thank goodness.

I held my workshop Monday evening and it was great. I cant share pictures of the cards we made yet as I am repeating this next week but I was really pleased with the way it went.

I can share this card with you though. It was from a class I did a couple of weeks ago with Gina Martin.

Thanks for stopping by and having a read.

Monday

Monday Monday

so good to me, Monday Monday... oppps sorry, do you remember that song? I must find out who sang it.

I had a lovely day yesterday. Went to Leicestershire for another class and met some wonderful people, some, I am sure, I shall be meeting again. Today its back to the grindstone and work and then this evening, its play time. I am having a workshop and we are going to be making some wonderful cards. Everything is just about ready, got to do a bit of sorting out and then thats it. I cant believe what a mess my craft room is in. Hopefully I will get chance tomorrow to give it a good sort out.

Thought I would share this card with you today

I have used a mixture of stamps from various sets including Winter's Post and Lovely as a tree. Of course it has the "moon" and lots and lots of glitter.

Thanks for stopping to have a read and hope you have a great day, whatever you are up to.

Sunday

Did you go on the blog hop yesterday? If not see the post below, there are some wonderful creations to be seen.

I spent yesterday doing some xmas shopping and it was lovely. Got through quite a lot off my list but am saving the wrapping up until nearer Christmas. I also spent an hour with my sister in town for a coffee and a bit of a shop. Although she only lives two minutes away it isnt often we get chance to go out for a coffee and a natter, made the day special.

Then it was back home to finish off everything for the workshop tomorrow. I didnt do it though yikes. I got waylaid on the phone, had visitors and before I knew it, it was time for xfactor. As I am out for the day today I will be panicing tonight but it always turns out alright on the night.

Here are some little packets I made up last week.

They are 3" tall and big enough to put a couple of chocolates in. It took me ages to get the size right as I want to us them for Christmas Day. I thought they would be perfect to add a couple of mints in and serve with coffee after the big meal.

Once I had cut out the paper, which is a mixture of the Christmas Jingle Kit and last years SU Christmas papers, I punched a hole with the scallop oval punch. I attached some of the wonderful SU accetate behind the hole and then made the packet up.

If you would like a template (hand drawn of course), just let me know.

Have a great day, whatever you are up to and thanks for having a read.

12 Blogs of Christmas

Good morning, today's the day that I have joined another 11 Stampin' Up! demonstrators for the "12 Blogs of Christmas" tour, which starts at 10.00a.m.

We have all been busy creating Christmas Projects which we hope will give you some inspiration. By clicking on the icon you will be taken to the next blog and hopefully, by clicking on the same icon on every blog you visit, you will get to see all 12 blogs and end up on the same one that you started from .

This is quite an achievement for me who doesnt know too much about computers and my fingers are crossed that it all works.

As well as two Christmassy projects, some ladies are offering blog candy so grab yourself a cuppa and hop aboard. Who knows, you could win yourself some goodies along the way.

You may have been directed here from Jo 's blog or just nipped in for a catch up on my blog but no matter how you arrived, I am glad you did. I hope you enjoy the tour and it would be great if you would leave your comments throughout your journey to let us know what you think, not only about the projects that we made but also your thoughts about this blog hop.

For my first project, I decided to try out a different shaped card. I know that this has been around for some time but its new to me. All the elements are from a Simply Scrappin kit called Christmas Jingle
Although it looks quite complicated to make, it wasnt. I dont do 'complicated'.

My second project is from the ever faitful Silent Night stamping set. I have done this card in practically every colour in the Stampin' Up! range and I havent found a colour that it doesnt work with yet.

I have used the new Eyelet Border punch across the bottom, which I think is really effective. Of course the whole think is covered with dazzling diamonds. If you click on the image you will be able to see the sparkle a bit more.

Thanks for having a read and I hope you enjoy the rest of your tour on todays blog hop.

Finally, I would like to say a very big thank you to Carolyn for organising this.

Friday

I am up at silly o'clock again and I know that I will be nodding off at work this afternoon, opps. We are all meeting at the Ilkeston Arena tonight and I am really looking forward to it. Hopefully we will be making some table decorations, favours etc. I will show you my efforts over the weekend. Yes its that magic word again, WEEKEND. Hopefully Paul will be home but I wont know until this afternoon so I am not building my hopes up.

Here is one of the cards I made with Gina last Sunday. You cant see all the glitter on it but I can assure you, it sparkles a lot (I think I went a bit mad with the glitter).

Tomorrow I am part of a blog ring. There are 12 of us and the theme is 12 blogs of Christmas. You should be able to get plenty of Christmas inspiration so please nip in and have a look. I just hope my technical skills allow me to link everything up.

Have a great day and thanks for having a read.

Monday

The start to another week already

Last week went by so quickly and the weekend, it went in a puff of smoke. Saturday I met up with a friend at CC and we watched a demo and then had coffee. Of course we had to have the cake too, well you just have to. That means I must be extra good this week otherwise I wont lose any weight by Thursday night.

Sunday I drove over to Peterborough and had a day with Gina Martin and how relaxing was that. We made 6 cards for Christmas and I loved them all. The trip back was a bit scary, dark country lanes, rain and lots of traffic. But I got home safe and sound.

I have a birthday party this weekend and wanted to make something different. So I made my first z card? Is that what it is called. Its a brilliant way of using up all those odd bits of lovely paper you have saved. I think I will be making a few more of these.

We have our last 2009 meet up at Ilkeston this Friday. If you are free and fancy joining us then please do, the more the merrier. Just send me an email tracey.rossos2@hotmail.com and I will give you directions. If you would like a lift, there are quite a few people coming from different areas and I am sure we can sort you out. I am looking forward to a nice evening out, the perfect way to start the weekend.

I will be back later in the week with more cards to show you, thanks for having a read

Friday

Went to bed about half 10 and fell fast asleep. All of a sudden 'ping' and I am wide awake at silly o'clock, red hot, sneezing and coughing. Decided to make myself a cuppa and then go back to bed. Thought I would grab this half an hour to add some words to my blog.

It was my weekly weigh in tonight and wayhay, I have lost another 2 lbs. Its coming off slowly but surely and I will be trying extra hard this week to shed another couple of lbs.

An update on Christiana and her cardmaking - she is going to her classes most Fridays and still enjoying it. Unfortunately she is still struggling to find crafting items and I have been sending her a few little parcels each week, mostly peel offs and toppers and some A5 card. Fortunately her dad was in UK this week so I sent a 3kilo box to his hotel for him to take back. Today she told me that she cant get square envelopes in Cyprus, oh if only I had known before.

Here is a card that she made her Grandfather for his birthday. Yellow and green are the colours of his football club

If you have any unwanted peel offs of any other lightweight crafty bits you dont think you will use please let me know.

This is ossy the owl. I went along to Helen's catalogue launch a few weeks ago and she made a beautiful card with the brayer, which can be seen here. I CASED her card but used chalks instead of the brayer and whilst I like what I have done, the brayered version is a lot crisper.

Thats my cuppa drunk so off to try and get a few more hours sleep.

Goodnight

Sunday

The weekend is nearly over

and what a lovely weekend it has been.

The wedding was fantastic. We had a great day even if it did drizzle. Both Leah and Will looked so happy and we wish them all the very best in their future together. The reception was so special, the food was to die for and I even got up for a boogie. We were dirty stop outs as we didnt get home till nearly midnight. A smashing day and one we will remember for many years to come.

Saturday I was up with the larks, which is not unusual for me. After all the chores were done I had visitor after visitor from about 11 so spent the rest of the day drinking coffee and having lots of crafty chatting. Even managed a couple of hours in the craft room before the X Factor and wow, that was a very entertaining evening. Who do you think will go out tonight? mmm I know who I WANT to leave but I bet they dont.

I saw the sunrise again today and guess what I did. I know I said I wasnt going, I know I said I didnt need anything but off I went to the NEC. It was great, I saw so many new things, demonstrations, new techniques and was so impressed. Yes there were lots of bead stalls and other crafting things that I am not interested in but....the people demonstrating had so much time and patience explaining things to me that I really appreciated it. Especially as this is their fourth day of doing it. I came away with a lot of knowledge (and a lot of bags).

Have you met puddy?? Isnt he a cutie??

Off to see what is happening with the x factor whilst glittering my cards for Tuesday night swap. Thanks for having a read and dont forget to leave a comment, just so that I know that people do stop by.

Have a great evening

Friday

The weekend is just around the corner

yep the weekend is nearly here, again. Just one more sleep to go, how I love my weekends. I havent done half as much as I wanted to do this week but will catch up at the weekend. The ho*****rk will still be there next week so I dont mind if I miss it this once.

We are off to a wedding today which I am really looking forward to and tomorrow will be xmas shopping and xmas cards. Sunday I may just nip to NEC, not too sure yet.

Here is yet another card from the Tall Tales and Animal Stories set. I am not too sure if I went a bit OTT on this one as there isnt much white space and I do like white space on my cards, if you havent already noticed.

Thanks for having a look and have a great day, whatever you are up to

Tuesday

Flower for all seasons

Tuesday already and my craft room is just about sorted after Saturday. It means I can go and play tonight, yipee.

Have you seen the Flower for all Seasons stamp set on page 46 on the catalogue. I have fallen in love with it. Guess what I am going to be doing this week, having a good old play with this set. At a price of only £10.95 + p+p for 4 stamps, it works out at less than £2.90 per stamp. What do you think about the perfectly co-ordinating thread in the buttons? If you click on the picture you will get a better look.

Have a great evening, whatever you are up to and thanks for having a read

Monday

Hall of fame

I was so busy on Saturday that my camera stayed in my pocket for most of the day, forget to take pictures of the cupcakes, the display stand, all the cards around the house etc. etc. how could I?

I did remember to take some pictures and here they are.

I have managed to put quite a few bits away in my craft room but it still needs some more time in there before I can work in it. Hopefully it will all be up and running again by tomorrow night as I have a few orders to sort out and lots of birthdays coming up.

What a fantastic day I had yesterday but where did the time go to? The whole day had people coming and going, making and taking, for Lesley's it was baking and making but that was fine. Lots and lots of cards were made, a lovely atmosphere, some laughs (especially Sue with her horse and saddle). Sue thought the new Animal Stories included a horse and a saddle, she now knows it a giraffe and an owl but she left happy, with a card that looked like a horse and saddle.

It all kicked off about half 9 and went on till 7ish. Thank you to everyone who helped make it such a great day, especially Pam who looked after all the drinks and the washing up.

I was in bed for half 9 shattered and today have spent the whole day, in between visitors, cleaning up. Tomorrows task is to try and find my craft room.

Thanks for having a read.
