Lucky Escape

I have had a lucky escape this morning. I was opening the patio door to go outside and just as I started to open the door, a great big dollop of bird s**t fell all down the door and onto the ground. I am telling you, there is so much of the stuff it must have been an emu or an ostrich that was flying by doing that. It is gross *shudder* and it could have got me just 10 minutes after I got out the shower - okay so you can stop laughing now.

Thought I would share Christiana's Birthday cards with you. I made them before we went to Cyprus and left them there with her, along with a pressie to open and a pressie to treat herself with.

Oh, here is Christiana along with Sophia and Katerina. This is the most up to date picture I have of the three of them together.

And the latest addition to our family is 7 month old Millie, who is Christiana's baby.

Milliie chews everything and I mean everything. She started chewing the kitchen chairs and as they didnt belong to Christiana she had to take them to a carpenter to be repaired. Then she began taking an interest in the kitchen table legs, well mum came up with a great idea. We got 1 1/2 little plastic water bottles, chopped the tops off and put the legs of the table into a plastic bottle. It looked silly but hay, it worked.

Thanks for having a look at my blog today and please feel free to leave a comment. Have a great day, whatever you are doing

Mid week musings

Wednesday already yikes, the days are flying by. I am off work at the moment as I am suffering with abcesses on a tooth root, abcesses on my gum and infection in my mouth. I look as though I have an orange in my cheek. Not too painful now that the antibiotics have kicked in, just very uncomfortable. It does mean that I cant craft at the minute as when I put my head down I get terrible pain shooting up the side of my face, my ear and my head so I have been spending my time pottering around the house and cleaning my craft room.

Well today is the last day of the current SU catalogue and tomorrow, YIPEE, the new one is officially out. If you would like a copy of the 2009-2010 catalogue just send me an email and let me know. I shall be preparing them all today for the girls who have asked for them in Derby and handing them out at the craft club Friday night.

Here is a sneek peek at a couple of cards I made last weekend using one of the new sets.

Its Christiana's birthday today, cant believe that she is 24. I spoke to her last night and she has sold a couple more cards and taken even more orders. I am really proud of her and what she is achieving. HAPPY BIRTHDAY DARLING.

Just So Crafty

'
Just So Crafty is a small but wonderful craft shop in Larnaca Cyprus. If you are visiting Cyprus you must go and say hello to Sarah and her mum. She has everything you could want in her shop, which is like Aladin's cave.

I am afraid the picture I took doesnt make the shop look too exciting but I can assure you, it is. I spent a wonderful few hours here and look forward to going back again next year. Christiana has already had her first card making class with Sarah and met some lovely people. As soon as I get a picture of the card she made I will share it with you.

Friday

Another week gone by

Phew, what a hectic first week back at work after 4 fantastic weeks in Cyprus. To say I am shattered is an understatement. I guess I will eventually catch up with all the chores at home.

Great news, I had the 2009-2010 Stampin Up catalogues arrive today. I have started my preperations for the catalogue launch make and take I have organised for 31 October, much more fun that housework and chores. If you would like to come along, please get in touch and I will let you have more details.

Now is the ideal time to become a Stampin Up Demonstrator yourself, new catalogue, new products and lots of people interested in having parties. Just send me an email and I can tell you more.

As I have mentioned in previous posts, my eldest daughter has taken a great interest in making cards. We spoke tonight and she has delivered her first orders AND got more orders, which is great news. The downside is that she is rather limited to supplies she can get so mum has to send her a parcel of goodies next week of peel offs, die cut decoupage and small stamps. Here is a card that we made two weeks ago.

I am looking forward to a busy weekend, tomorrow a few of us are off to Sir Stampalot in Peterborough and on Sunday I will have a few hours to play with some new stamp from Stampin Up.

Have a great weekend whatever you are doing, and thanks for all your lovely comments

Christmas Card

Those that know me are aware that when I go on my holiday to Cyprus I usually manage to get at least 100 Christmas cards stamped and prepared to finalise upon my return home.

This year I failed LOL. This is the one and only Christmas card I managed to make but at least I had lots of fun doing other stuff.
Its a little Claire stamp that I think is so sweet.

Tuesday

Holiday Crafting

I couldnt go away for so long and not make a card. I usually make my Christmas cards but I didnt manage to do that this year. Instead my eldest daughter Christiana has taken a really big interest in card making so I have been giving her some tips of what to do.

Here is the crafting space that we were using. Monday - Saturday it was the crafting space and on Sundays it became a dining table (sorry the photos are not brilliant, but you get a good idea).

We went shopping in a lovely craft shop in Larnaca to get Christiana some basics. She chose two stamps, double sided paper and card. For inks, she stole all mine.

Here are a few ideas that we came up with

Before I returned home, Christiana sold one card and has orders for 3 more, congratulations to her. If she comes to the UK for Christmas I will have to hide all my stamps otherwise they will end up in Cyprus. I will be posting bits and pieces out to her, especially die cut decoupage as she just loves sitting there creating cards with the images. Its also very good for her fingers as she has a condition which affects her hands and making cards is good physiotherapy (is that spelt correctly?)

Here is a picture of her holding a cake that she made for us,
in her new apartment. Guess who forgot to make a new home
card to take with me, opps. I will have to get one in the post
to her.

Monday

Back from my holiday

I have been away for the last few weeks and WOW what a lovely time we have had. I didnt realise how much I needed the break. Have returned home feeling relaxed and stress free and hopefully will remain like this for a few weeks.

This is the view that we had when we were on the beach. We didnt manage to get to the beach everyday as we did shopping, sightseeing, catching up with family and spending lots and lots of time with my daughters.

When we weren't at the beach I was having tyre races in the pool with Sophia - but she cheats LOL.

Can you believe that every Sunday we cooked a proper Sunday Lunch with all the trimmings for 8 people in temperatures of 37 degrees......must be mad. Just to prove it. I dont know why my yushpudstudding (yorkshire puddings to those that dont live in the Rossos household) went a strange shape but mmm they were scrummy.

I did manage to do some crafting but I will save those pictures until later in the week and tell you all the news from Stampin Up.

Thanks for all your lovely comments and I hope to catch up with everyones blogs as soon as I can.

Thanks for having a read

Wednesday

Birthday Card

Here is a card I made recently for a friend. I started it at the last Dabblers meeting and finished it off at home.

I have used the Stampin Up French Script as a background and as part of the flowers.

I do hope she will like this.

Monday

Stampin Up Handbag

I didnt realise, until a friend told me, that my latest handbag could be a stampin up one. I got it as it is so colourful that I can use it with almost any colour of shoes/clothing. But now I look at it and think, old olive, real red, pretty in pink, bashfull blue and chocolate....what do you think

Wednesday

Sirstampalot Day with Gina contd

Here is yet another card that we made with Gina. In total we made 6, so you still have another couple to see.

Sunday

Even more tart and tangy

I have been really inspired by all the SU demonstrators blogs that I have been looking at. I saw these two cards and just had to case them. If you look on my sidebar in the SU Inspirational section, you will be lost for hours, but well worth it. I used the SU markers for colouring the fruit and stamped it onto the card. I then made a mask from post it notes, covered the fruit I had stamped and stamped again, without re-inking and just repeated it. Real Red and Old Olive are the colours I have gone with on these two cards.

I do hope you arent fed up of Tart and Tangy just yet as I have a couple more to show you

Thursday

Another Card from Gina's Class

Here is another card that we made at the recent class I went to with Gina Martin. I am hoping that she will be coming to Derby in the near future to teach at the Craft Club that I run.

Although I am not too good with silicone, I tried my best with this and am quite happy with the result.

Tuesday

Gable Box

I have seen so many gable boxes on blogs recently that I thought that I would have a go. This is my first attempt. I have used the Very Versitle stamp set which is my latest new toy along with Whisper White card and ribbon. I stamped the image onto confetti white card for a change. I hope to making plenty more of these boxes in Christmas Colours as I think they will be so handy to put little pressies in from Santa.
